The crema Balsamica owes its existence to the special requirements of the catering sector . Some chefs came up with the idea to decorate their dishes with balsamic vinegar . For this purpose, the balsamic vinegar was mixed with flour heated to make it thicker and creamier . However, it took too long to obtain the right consistency and the typical tart flavor was lost. It was then developed using specific methods of blending of wine, and an elaborate filtration method of balsamic crema . Recommended as a special addition to Grana Padano , all meat or fish dishes and to top it off with desserts , including strawberries and ice cream.
