The grapes for this first-class quality sparkling wine thrive on the Lambrusco Grasparossa vines in the best hillside vineyards around the place Castelvetro , south of the city of Modena . It is a sweet wine with an intense ruby red color and a fine mousse, which creates a beautiful pink foam when pouring . Fruity in the nose and on the palate , typical of Lambrusco . Thanks to the slow fermentation of the wine retains a remarkable softness . Suitable for pasta dishes with meat sauces , pizza and perfect for dessert.

I first had this lambrusco on a trip to Rome 2 years ago, and whilst I am not a wine drinker, it just suited my tastes down to the ground with its semi-sweet, fruity and frothy effervescence. I tried for ages to track it down, without success. Even Chiarli themselves weren't interested in selling me some. Then, having given up for about a year, I happened upon the Italvino website and was delighted to see that they stocked it. So I bought 6 bottles which arrived less than a week later, and I sampled the first bottle that evening. Needless to say (unlike a lot of other holiday drinks that we bring home only to be disappointed) the Chiarli lambrusco took me back to Rome and that dinner 2 years ago. In fact, I made a pasta meal to complement it ... it was just as nice this time.
